Starting Over

For 9 years now I have been trying to get rid of the extra baby weight. I know - 9 years is a very long time. My biggest problem is consistency - I start well but seldom finish well. For the amount of money that I have spent since 2000, I should have been very fit but it isn't the case.

I have a gym membership since 2000. I must be Bally's kind-of-customer - you know the one who gets excited at the very beginning - purchased a membership and wait for another year to set foot in the gym again.

I have purchased a treadmill which I later sold because you know - it was not being put to good use.

I had a personal trainer last July and it worked out well and why didn't I continue on my own doing what I learned- I don't any excuse for that either.

Today, I acquired the following:

And this:

and this too:
I started today. Again. And if you are shaking your head in disbelief and can't quite believe this sad tale - I covet your prayers for consistency.

Thank you in advance.

  1. Oh Myriam!!!!!! First of all, if you do that Step dvd consistently you can't help but see results. It's a killer at first but just do what you can. I am impressed that you can jump on that mini tramp without needing to cross your legs!! Seriously though, good for you for putting this out there on the blog. Now we can all ask you how it's going - you're a brave woman!!

  3. Oprah says the hardest thing is deciding. Your half way there. Don't go by the scale. Measure your success by how you feel (mentally and physically) and how your clothes fit. I know that you can do it. Remember that "you are worth it." And a Happy, Healthy Myriam makes for a Happy, Healthy Mom for your son!

Just don't go so hard on yourself if you slip. Take baby steps. I have weeks where I cut back on certain things... no soda, no junkfood and no bread are my 3 favorites. This week, it's no soda. It's Tuesday and I'm holding on (smile)

Have a great day and I'm looking forward to a progress report (lol)

  4. Thank you all for your sweet words of encouragement.

Sheryl- it took me a while to figure out the correct way to use the mini tramp. I guess there's plenty of learning to do.

Br. Wilson - thanks so much for the prayers. I would love to write a post in a few months telling you that I've won the war.

Butterfly- baby steps are key. I am a bread addict. I am slowing down. Hang in there without the junk food\soda\bread. I hope to get you a good report

  7. Hello Myriam! First time visiting, by the way of "Free Spirit" and it surely will not be my last.

My sister, keep your head up and your shoulders back. Keep your eyes stayed focused on the Father and He will make every crooked path straight. Just when the devil thinks he can come in and side track you from your goals God will step in and give you the strength you will need to fight every temptation that has taken you off course in the past.

This time...as one of your followers has said, you have a larger cheering & praying section and no demon or devil in hell will keep you from reaching your goal, IN JESUS NAME!

    Fight baby Fight!

    Peace and Abundant Blessings!

  9. I wandered this way from the LPM blog. Too bad that there aren't any calories burnt in that travel. Praying for God's hand in your journey. I am still on the same taebo video and diet for the last three years - only gained 3 pounds! - so much for the losing. But starting again today and tomorrow.

    God's blessings to you
    Kim
