Random stuff

I can breathe a sign of relief this morning considering I am running on less than 4 hours of sleep. I had a crazy day yesterday – and come to think of it – the last few weeks have been quite hectic. A snapshot of yesterday as I replayed it around 1 AM this morning.

5:00 AM – woke up
5:35 AM - Left the house
5:49 AM – Took on the train
6:55 AM - Arrived at work
In between the craziness at work, tried to work on a school research paper that was due last Friday because I was living on borrowed time.
6:00 PM – Left work
7:40 PM – Arrived home
7:55 PM – I had promise to take Brandon bowling - school event.
8:50 PM – Left the school

9:30 PM – I had to finish the paper. It’s a 12 page research paper on the “History of Christianity ” and my choice of topic was ‘The rise of the papacy’. I managed to put the last period on page # 12 at about 12:30 AM.

I was pretty desperate but no choice but to finish it. I am the queen of procrastination and I hope to find some sort of a cure for it. I’ve always waited at the last minute to finish school work and as a result put myself under a lot of stress. Based on how I managed to put that paper together with all the time constraints– I am counting on the professor being gracious to me (in addition to being late) – considering it’s worth 35%S of my grade. On the bright side, not only is the semester over but I have completed the coursework for my Master’s degree in Theological Studies at Liberty University in less than 2 years.

Hoooooraaaayyyyy.

I have actually studied something that I truly enjoyed and in a sense education is supposed to be enjoyable and fun. I could not say it was so for my undergrad degree. I also enjoyed my computer classes in Networking too. Did I ever tell you that I put a computer together back in 1989? Yep. I bought the parts and put them together together and used that PC for about 3 years.

Break Time.

I have opted for the time off to concentrate on the following:

Building a website for a sweet idea that I have been cherishing. I was given the Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium to play with and I have yet to start working on it.

Starting a Bible study in January: Lord, Only You Can Change Me, A Devotional Study on Growing in Character from the Beatitudes by Kay Arthur.
I should go back to work now. It has taken me 3 hours to write this post while working.

8 PM (God willing) Get home and try to figure out what to get Brandon’s teacher as a present. Last day of school for the year is tomorrow. Do I see the ugly head of procrastination rearing its ugly head again?

Have a blessed day everyone.

Myriam

  1. Ok, I have to tell you, that I love this post!! First of all, hooray for you for finishing your schooling. What an accomplishment and one that you should be very proud of.

It was fun getting to know you a little better! I would never have thought you were one to procrastinate. Another thing we have in common and need to overcome (ha) AND you are a computer whiz.

Myriam, I pray that you have a wonderful Christmas! It has been a joy to get to know you. Love to you. ~Sheryl

  2. Hi Sheryl-

Thank you so very much for your sweet words. You are very, very kind and my very first blogging friend. I love you too.

Who would have thought procrastination was a common thread?

I still visit the forum though I don't write back much.

May you a wonderful Christmas as well!!!

  3. Myriam,

Girlfriend, I am so proud of you!
I am in school for my BSN( bachelors in nursing) and I often proscrasinate too so things would be easier and so much less stress for me if I would not put things off. I get stressed out and I just deny that there is any issues to iron out until 1-2 days before something is due.

Your sweet words on my blog I have so appreciated. May GOD bless you in a special way.
    Have a blessed Christmas.

  4. YEAH!!! for finishing the paper and school for the year! I worked full-time while I finished my Bachelor's. My son was 4 at the time. It was a very difficult time. But God was so faithful every step of the way.

And I so understand procrastination. That is the story of my life!

    Take care, my friend!
I hope you have a great weekend now that you can breath a little easier ;o)
